The Frozen River trek is one of the most thrilling and challenging trekking trails
of India. Himalayan rivers like the Indus, Zanskar etc., especially those
running through the Leh-Ladakh region, freeze in winter. This makes way for a
trek that is riskily chilling yet adventurous enough to give the toughest
trekkers an adrenaline rush. Thus, frozen rivers make for some of the best
treks in India. Perfect areas with the, panoramic Himalayan peaks in the
background. The narrow mountain paths take you through dense forests, lush valleys
and quaint villages where the natives are very friendly and tend to regard
guests as God.
Of course the conditions are extremely
challenging with minus double digit temperatures, bad weather conditions,
trails covered with ice which make it particularly awkward etc. But the booty
are also outstanding in their brilliancy and offer a unforgettable experience
which cannot be imitation. The Chadar trek is one of the very popular frozen
river treks in which knowledgeable trekkers walk along the frozen Zanskar River.
